DJs in the DMV

How do yall feel about the DJs in the area? Anyone really stand out to you? Because personally i dont see any originality and style when it comes to DJing in VA.

i dont know bout va beach,..but the dj scene aint dat big in 703. they arent many niteclub spots to hit. i just saw the cassidy flyer for a spot out in sterling, otha than that, all i can think of is a spot in woodbridge and fast eddies in alexandria. as far as djs go, most of dem comin from dc. i dont know if the niteclub scene will ever grow cuz of the laws. its wide open brown, what u goin do?

i dont know that much about the djs in dmv but this is what i do know

club djs - alizay, analyze, both quicksilvers,

mixtape - rob from traget squad

blends - brown

Thats wassup. Im not feelin Rob though. I dont like the idea of one person putting out so many mixtapes, needs to spread the wealth.

i think regular mixtapes are played out..

who cares about getting a cd with a bunch of yelling and music on it now adays? everything is on demand on the internet.

now, the mixtapes i do like are the concept ones of music the dj who puttin the mixtape out created that you cant find anywhere. like a khaled album or a blends one.

true true, in that case you should enjoy my Technology Mixtape ima put out in january. Its a concept mixtape that kinda resembles kanye's newest album.

DJ Heat is nice! She got a few mixtapes out! She supports good quality Indie artists., DJ Rob Love from NY is pretty hot on Wed. @ 1223. DJ Platinum Toys be doing her thing! DJ Kash Monee can do his thing plus he about the indie artists as well

Back in the day in DC, there where not alot of know DJ's in the area. When I say back in the day I mean the early 80's. Like you know how you see Jam Master Jay, Kid Capri's, The Flash Master, and all of those other folks was just establishing Hip-hop, DC was not doing no that! Okay, the 90's DC had radio DJ's who held it down in all the clubs like your DJ Rico's, Flexx, Super Slice, DJ Kool, Funk Reglator, Six Sence, DJ Exclusive, and then at that time Promoters where calling on alot of the out of town DJ's like S&S, Biz Markie, Capri. I can go on and on with this, but you have to look cause they out there. THe only problem with this is everyone is blowing up and no one is putting other new jacks out in continue the DJing legecy.
