A product of the South, Laron Bishop aka Young Soulja, watched his older brothers maneuver through the city streets raising hell at a young age.His older brother Troy began buying Young Soulja CDs containing Southern rappers and lots of 2 Pac. This music began to shape his lyrics into a "say what he feels" artist.

Young Soulja, Troy, and T Snatch formed an alliance of street souljas called the LAC Boyz. The deeper Soulja got into rap, the deeper he got into the drug game which led to incarceration. He promised the streets that when he returned, he would put Charleston, South Carolina and the Carolinas on the map.
