Since the day he was born, he was something special. Now the streets have been asking for someone Fresh to come to the game. Little did they know, God gave them exactly what they asked for. Representing the D.C./Maryland/Virginia (The DMV) mid-atlantic region, FRESH-SHAUN is an Hip Hop Artist hailing Southwest D.C. to Beltsville, Landover, Capitol Heights, and Waldorf, Md (P.G. & Chuck County). But because he is a military brat and a college graduate, FRESH-SHAUN has also lived in such places as Germany, Mtn Home Idaho, Tampa, Fl and Columbus, Oh. Since FRESH-SHAUN has started his grind, he's performed in over 20 shows in the DMV, gained radio play on 93.9 WKYS, has performed in over 20 shows and been a featured act in clubs in Charlotte, NC; and handled his own manufacturing, business, promotion, and networking. "You already heard the word "Fresh", now it's time to put a face to it", FRESH-SHAUN states as his government name is Freshaun Damar Porter. "My stage name was K.o.s.-M.o. (pronounced Cawz-Moe) or K-Gritty but when people found out my real name was Freshaun, they liked it so much that I was persuaded to change it to that. I had to change the spelling of my stage name Freshaun to FRESH-SHAUN because at shows, the host would mispronounce my name like FREE-SHAUN which was more worse and embarrassing than the track-skipping incident I had at a talent show one time ha ha, so with the name spelled like FRESH-SHAUN, there's no mistakes; in a nut-shell, he is Freshaun aka FRESH-SHAUN aka K.o.s.-M.o. Gritty." When FRESH-SHAUN was younger, the absent of a father left a void for him to look up to other male role models. Being a black man growing up in the DMV means you're tough, aggressive and crazy. FRESH-SHAUN has always had to prove himself tough as a kid since he was skinny, short and cute; and his unusual unique first name has always put pressure on him to be Fresh. "I've been through a combination of realness. At age 7, I lost my virginity. I was tussling with my brother everyday to the point where my mom thought we were going to kill each other. In high school my nickname was Fresh but I had real bad acne so talk about getting made fun of. In 2007, I had the swat team at my house for trying to say me and my mans kidnapped his babymoms which has no truth in it whatsoever. My mom said she saw my life flash before her eyes and my stepfather of 3 months was in shock. In May 2008 my stepfather's father died and the very next day, my good friend committed suicide by crashing his car into a traffic lightpole. I've been in the Army and they said I had a personality disorder and was in the halfway house for two suicide attempts. I've had a Federal Warrant for not being able to follow military orders and was in the personnel control facility. I've been engaged and lost a child to miscarriage. I've had a girlfriend cheat on me with a girl. And due to the recession and my background, I've been unemployed. What keeps FRESH-SHAUN motivated is his faith in God and Jesus Christ, knowing that He has placed FRESH-SHAUN on a special mission. FRESH-SHAUN is a freelancer, song-writer, producer, recording engineer, rapper, performer, clothing line owner (Freshaun D. Porter Wear), independent record label owner (Commercial Bricks) and is also known to numerous independent labels throughout the eastside region on the United States. "Showing love and also showing that I don't play no games, is what I love to do." FRESH-SHAUN has plans to continue to make power moves to fulfill his lifelong prophecy and to fill in the position that God Himself has gave him which is King of Rap.
